BAMBOO SUSHI: SEATTLE MURAL

CAPTURING CUSTOMERS WITH AN ARTFUL EXTERIOR

CREATIVE DIRECTION | GRAPHIC DESIGN | BRAND MOMENTS

In 2008, Bamboo Sushi became the world’s first certified sustainable sushi restaurant. Matched by their dedication to sustainability is their drive to captivate consumers by creating ‘a dining experience that seeks to inspire.’

As Bamboo expands operations in key markets across the West Coast, they selected a popular outdoor shopping mall in Seattle for their next restaurant concept. Seeking to leverage the corner location’s exterior to draw in passers-by, they asked us to re-envision the lack-luster façade to make a splash.

A view of the location’s exterior to-go pick-up window showcasing the large-scale mural, sandwich sign, and neon.

A SPACE WHERE SUSHI MEETS 1960’S TRAVEL AND ROCK POSTERS.

Pulling from their existing brand palette, inspired by 1960s travel and rock posters, we designed a concept reworking the letter O in their logo into an abstracted fish hook pattern. The design was then expanded to wrap the building, and hand painted by a local artist.

We translated the same design to mobile outdoor signage intended to draw the eye toward the space. Lastly, we added an eye-catching neon sign to the restaurant’s forward-thinking exterior to-go window.
